SWACCH MANAS AT LOURDES CENTRAL SCHOOL

SWACCH MANAS AT LOURDES CENTRAL SCHOOL

It is said that ‘cleanliness is next to godliness.’ On  30-11 2017 the students of Class IX learnt the true meaning of this phrase.
The session began with a prayer for God’s choicest blessings. Jason of Class IXA welcomed the gathering. The Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza expressed his views on cleanliness and welcomed the Resource Person with flowers.
Ms Pratibha Kurethadka, a representative of Ramakrishna Mission addressed the students about ‘Swacch Manas’ Mission. She interacted with the students and discussed how India can be turned into a clean country. She stressed on personal hygiene and cleanliness of public places. She shared her experiences and encouraged students to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle waste. This programme which will continue till the month of March focuses on shaping students into ‘Swacchta Ambassadors’ of India. Students actively participated in the session and expressed their opinion on the topic.
The programme ended with the awarding of Swacchta Badges and students taking the oath as Swacchta Ambassadors. This was a great opportunity for the students to learn to keep their surrounding clean and to reduce our debt to nature.
