International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day was celebrated at Lourdes Central School on March 8, 2025, to honour and celebrate the achievements, struggles, and contributions of women in all fields. This event aimed to raise awareness about gender equality and empower both students and faculty to understand the significance of supporting women’s rights and their contributions to society.

The assembly was conducted by the male staff of our school.                         Mr Roshan Cordiero was the Master of the ceremony and he introduced the significance of the programme. The programme began with a prayer song followed by thought for the day presented by                Mr Henry Mascarenhas. Mr Girish briefed the significance of the day. A skit in kannada by the men faculty highlighted the respect and honour deserving to the women. The skit gave the message that without a woman in life it is very difficult to manage a happy family life. A melodious kannada song,’Abhinandanae Mahilaerae’ was sung by all the men staff. Fr Principal gave the message about the role of women in our society. The lady staff members were also given a talk on “Womens Health” by Dr.Sharon Rasquinha,a famous gynecologist and Obstetrician . The talk was followed by games and fun activities for the lady staff members.

The day marked the celebration of the woman’, acknowledging   her major role in our lives and the joy that she brings to everyone around her.
