Parent-Teacher Interactive Session 2023-24 Class 10

Parent-teacher interactive sessions are great opportunities for parents and teachers to develop a healthy and strong relationship for the holistic development of a child.

Parent Teacher interactive session was organized for the parents and students of class 10 on 3rd June 2023 from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the rooftop auditorium. The school choir began the session by invoking God’s blessings through a prayer song.

Ms. Linet D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, the Principal, Ms. Belita Mascarenhas and Ms. Anita Thomas, the Vice Principals, the parents, teachers and students of class 10. A self-introduction was then given by all the subject teachers.

Ms. Gretta Menezes, the Examination Coordinator, appraised the gathering about the New Education Policy 2020 and also briefed the parents about the present assessment structure. She also emphasized on how NEP has moved from “rote learning” to “competency based education”. This was followed by a briefing on the Code of Conduct by Ms. Anita Thomas who also highlighted the aim of discipline and time management in school.

Ms Belita Mascarenhas encouraged students to ameliorate, transcend and not settle for mediocrity and instructed them to be resistant to change and go for the better; not to focus on the burden but to look towards the goal, which is to excel.  She introduced the parents and students to the new Academic Support Classes (ASC) .

The following PTEC representatives from each section were then  elected: Mr. Sunil Roshan Noronha, parent of Mikasha Noronha of class 10 A, Ms Lorna Gomes, parent of Adith Rodrigues of class 10 B and Mr. Mohammed Iqbal, parent of  Fathima Minha of class 10 C. The session was then kept open for feedback, queries and suggestions from parents.

Rev Fr. Robert D’Souza, the principal addressed the gathering and thanked the parents for their gracious presence. He informed the parents and students about the upcoming Board Exams beginning no later than 15th of February 2024 urging the students to prioritize academic excellence, study for atleast 2-3 hours per day and work hard to score above 90%. He shared the joyous news of 100% result of the previous batches of classes 10 and 12. He proudly announced the strength of the 110 staff and 2139 students on roll presently. He requested the parents’ continuous support for the upcoming Silver Jubilee programmes and assured the parents that the programmes won’t disturb academics. He stressed on mutual understanding and respect between students and teachers. He requested the parents to compulsorily send two healthy tiffins along with a water bottle and a handkerchief.  Concluding his address, speaking directly to the students, he urged them to raise LCS standards and to never compromise discipline and respect.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks which was delivered by Ms. Deepa D’Souza. She thanked the Principal for his leadership that became our lighthouse and for planning and organizing the session, the Vice Principals for adding value to the programme, the staff for being the backbone of the institution, the parents for their constant support and the students for being disciplined and attentive.
