Parent Teacher Interactive Session II- Class 8

The PTA Interactive Session of Class VIII was held on 30 January 2025 at LCS Roof Top bringing together Fr Principal Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira, Vice Principal, and teachers to apprise parents and students about the CBSE Examination Pattern for the upcoming Preparatory and Annual Examination. The session aimed to foster better communication between parents and educators for the benefit of the students
The session began with a warm welcome by Ms Lavina Serrao, lead teacher who emphasized the importance of parent-teacher collaboration.
The teachers of all subjects presented a PowerPoint on the Question Paper Pattern, followed by valuable examination tips and study techniques.
The Examination Coordinator Ms Gretta Menezes outlined the Examination schedule, promotion criteria, discipline Issues and Disciplinary Actions for misconduct.
Fr Principal, in his address thanked the parents for their constant support. He emphasised the importance of daily revision and encouraged students to take responsibility for their own growth, both academically and in discipline. He praised students who consistently study well, and assured them a 100% promotion. For low scorers and those unable to attend due to valid reasons will have a re-exam, with a new set of question paper. Fr further explained that CBSE has implemented a new rule that any form of malpractice, students will be prohibited from writing exams for the next two academic years. He also clarified that in our school, a fine is imposed for unfair means aiming to discourage malpractice. Fr Principal concluded by saying that our school is committed to providing quality education and preparing them well for the Board Exam as career is formed only when one has good academic marks. Fr announced that Class IX would begin soon with the commencement date given.
The session was then taken over by Mr Prashanth from Allen Institute, a renowned coaching Centre specialising in academics. During the session, he focused on various academic strategies, study techniques and how their coaching could help students enhance their learning and perform better in exams.
The PTA Interactive Session proved to be a fruitful discussion, strengthening the bond between parents, students and teachers.
