Lourdes Central School under the banner “La Familia Unida”, celebrated Regale 2024 in the school campus on 16th November 2024. The aim of the event was to bring students and their families together in our school campus for a joyous celebration of togetherness.
The dignitaries of the day, Manager Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Principal Rev Fr Johnson Sequiera, Rev Fr Peter Mascarenhas, Chief Guest Dr Jasmine D’souza, Vice Principals Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas, Vice President and Secretary of Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mr Ashok Pinto and Ms Avitha Pinto were escorted to the dais by the school band.
The programme began with a prayer song by the staff of LCS. The intercessory prayers were led by Ms Alica D’silva, Ms Linet D’souza, Ms Lavita D’souza and Ms Jovita D’souza.
The Principal Rev Fr Johnson Sequeira welcomed the gathering and the Chief Guest Dr Jasmine D’Souza MPT (Orthopedics). She is a renowned Physiotherapist, Anchor, Actor and Alumna of LCS. Currently she is an Assistant Professor at MVM college of Physiotherapy, RGUHS University, Bangalore. The Manager Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha and the dignitaries present felicitated the Chief Guest.
The Chief Guest, Dr Jasmine D’souza in her message spoke about four categories of people. The first were encouraged by teachers and mentors to participate in events. Students in the second category were courageous enough to grab opportunities to showcase their talents whereas those in the third category just did not have enough courage to try. Those in the fourth category cheered and encouraged others. Dr Jasmine said that she used to belong to the third category, but not anymore. She encouraged the students to grab every opportunity to shine
The manager Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha in his address said that parenting is very challenging and we need opportunities to relax and get to know one another as a family.
The theme song was composed and sung by Evana Marianne D’souza of class 9C, Jaden Ezechiel Baptist of class 9C and Maquin Gregg Rodrigues of class 10 B.
All the participants of “La Familia Unida” who performed to make the event a memorable one by their performances were honoured with the certificates of appreciation.
The dignitaries of the day and the Lead teachers along with the students declared the event “La Familia Unida” open by releasing colourful balloons. The food stalls from the finest boutique Hotel Gold Finch and various toys and games stalls put up by the teachers were inaugurated.
Enhancing the grandeur of the event, an exciting round of Housie Housie and spot games were held, offering attractive prizes that added to the thrill and enjoyment of the occasion.
LCS Regale our signature programme provided a vibrant stage for students, parents and teachers to showcase their talents in music and dance. The audience was thoroughly entertained by a captivating series of cultural performances.
The grand finale, featuring an energetic Baila dance performance by the students truly stole the show.
The programme was compered by Ms Dilla Colaco, Mr Roshan Cordeiro, Ms Linet Pereira, Ms Jennifer Menezes, Ms Preema D’souza and Ms Marula Gibson.
Hats off to the committee members Ms Lolita Mascarenhas, Ms Shanthi Menezes, Ms Sowmya, Mr Ivan Mascarenhas, Ms Harshitha Shetty Mr Rohan Sequeira and Ms Linet Pereira for an enthralling day out.
