SDM Exhibition – Karavali Karnival

On 11th January 2024, Class 6 students, accompanied by teachers, visited the Karavali Karnival exhibition at Shri Dharmasthala Manjuntheshwara School, Ashoknagar. The exhibition showcased the essence of Ek Bharat Shrest Bharath, highlighting the cultural blend of Silk and Snow.

# Pre-Visit Preparations:

We gathered at the school ground at 9:00 am, where we received general instructions and a prayer from Fr. Principal. We then boarded the bus at 9:15 am and arrived at SDM school at 9:30 am.

# Welcome and Program:

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a staff member from SDM school and seated at the Amphitheatre. The program began at 10:00 am with the arrival of the chief guests. The teachers from SDM school extended a warm welcome to everyone present.

# Stage Program:

The stage program commenced with a prayer song, followed by the lighting of the lamp. The official inauguration of the Karavali Karnival marked the beginning of the day. The chief guests were felicitated, and an introduction to the event highlighted the significance of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and ‘Ek Bharat Shrest Bharath.’ The presentation focused on the two regions, Ladakh and Karnataka.

# Cultural Performances:

A mesmerizing dance performance showcasing the culture and art of the two regions left us spellbound. This was followed by a soulful music performance by the students of NITTE.

# Exhibition and Presentations

After the stage program, we viewed various presentations, including:

1. Models of Gol Gumbaz, mountains, Netravati dam, Juma Masjid, Mysore Palace, Bekal Fort, and the Golden Temple.

2. Displays of waterfalls, different necklaces, and various foods of Ladakh and Karnataka.

3. Information on types of dances, clothes, traditional costumes, festivals, wildlife, and ancient ruins of India between the two regions.

# Conclusion

We departed from the exhibition at 11:45 am and returned to school. The visit to the Karavali Karnival exhibition was an enriching experience, providing us with valuable information about the cultural heritage and diversity of Ladakh and Karnataka.
