Second Parent Teacher Interactive Session of Class 6
The Second Parent Teacher Interactive Session was held on 13 February 2025 in the roof top hall. Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson L Sequeira, Vice Principal Belita Mascarenhas , Teachers of class 6 , exam coordinator Ms Gretta and parents of students of class 6 were present
The meeting began at 8.10 as per the scheduled time. Students of the school choir led the prayer which helped to invoke God’s blessings on the programme. Ms. Seema Lobo , class teacher of class 6 B welcomed the gathering after which the subject teachers gave a brief idea about the question paper design, updates about the curriculum focusing on the key areas in each subject which require special attention. Later Ms. Gretta the exam coordinator read the exam guidelines including the schedule of the upcoming preparatory and annual examination and criteria for promotion. The floor was kept open for discussion and parents raised their concerns about how children can learn basic communication in kannada and how the question paper pattern is going to be set up for basic kannada. The queries were answered by Ms. Noeleen and the Vice- Principal. After a healthy discussion, Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson L Sequeira gave his valuable insights on how discipline and academic performance is equally important for a student’s holistic development and stressed on the statement that the foundation laid in class 6 and class 7 is a preparation for class 10 board exams which contributes to a student’s academic success and advised the students to take their studies seriously. He also highlighted the changes brought by NEP in learning three languages through a three language formula and enumerated the role of studying kannada as a third language and said that “ We should be ready to accept any changes made by board in the curriculum with respect to NEP.” He also advised the parents to encourage their ward to learn kannada which highlighted the importance of this subject in the CBSE curriculum. Ms Seema Lobo compered the session. With a positive note, “Education is the most powerful weapon which is used to change the world”, the session concluded at 9.10 a.m.
