SOCIAL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2024
THEME – EXPLORING THE WORLD
Lourdes Central School organised LCS Social Science Exhibition 2024 for classes I to VIII on Wednesday, 16th October 2024 on the theme ‘Exploring the World’. The Exhibition was inaugurated during the morning assembly by the Principal Rev. Fr Johnson L Sequeira, and Vice Principals Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas. The inaugural model was explained by Pranjal B of class IXC, and Tanvi R Shetty of class IXC spoke about the significance of Social Science Exhibition. The students of class III showcased their talents by performing a fashion show pertaining to the different states of India.
The aims and objectives of the Social Science Exhibition were as follows:
1. To apply what the students learn.
2. To encourage creative thinking and promote psychomotor skills among
students through self-designed models.
3. To develop social skills necessary to live a life of peace.
4. To inculcate the feelings of oneness.
The students made models on the following topics:
CLASS TOPIC
1. I : Kinds of Houses
2. II : The Sun, The Earth and The Moon
3. III : Clothes
4. IV : Our Culture and Heritage
5. V : Natural Disaster
6. VI : Landforms and Life
7. VII : Media and Technology
8. VIII : Industries
The models were considered for Subject Enrichment Activity. The Criteria for judgement were Design and Layout; Content, Explanation and Accuracy; Artistic Skill; and Overall Presentation. Best three Models from each section were awarded Certificates (I, II & III Prize and two Consolation Prizes). By combining Social Science with art, each Lourdite expressed their marvellous plasticity of mind and explored the amazing world around them.
