Sports help us to build our character. It teaches us to play by rules and to know what it feels like to win and lose, it helps us to build friendship and relations. so it is rightly said “sports unveils the personality, letting the character shine through. It gives an opportunity to know and test oneself”
9th of November a day with lots of enthusiasm for Lourdes Central School as the Lourdites celebrated their Annual Sports day of the Kindergarten.
The sports day began by invoking God’s blessings. The chief Guest of the day was Rev.Fr Norman Mathias, the Assistant parish priest of Bejai was escorted by our Principal Rev.Fr Johnson L Sequeira, Vice Principals Mrs Belta Mascarenhas and Mrs Anitha Thomas and the co-ordinator Ma’am Lydia Dsouza and the Management members, Ms Anitha Veigas and Mr Ronald Fernandes.
The KG co-ordinator welcomed and introduced the chief Guest.
The main attraction of sports day was the display and the drill performed by our little Lourdites the Pre-KG and KG students under the guidelines of ma’am Malini and ma’am Neumshanath. Games like passing the hats, throwing the ball in the backet were the highlights of the day which the audience enjoyed watching their children participating with joy and friendly spirit.
The chief Guest Rev Fr Norman Mathias addressed the gathering, by appreciating the wonderful display and, inspired the young minds with his motivational and inspiring words.
To bring out the child in the parents, Games for parents of KG were organized. Students were really happy to see their parents participate and they cheered with lots claps.
Fr Principal appreciated the parents for being present and participating in the games in large numbers and showing their love and support to their children and the school. He also praised the little students for wonderful display and appreciated the hard work of the teachers and students.
Prize distribution for the various games conducted during the sports week was held. The children were full of laughter, joy and happiness.
At the end gratitude for all the blessings received on the day protecting the little students from all the things was expressed by ma’am Lavita. The programme was compered by ma’am Lynette pinto and ma’am Jenifer Menezes. The programme ended by singing the national anthem and refreshments served for the parents and students.
