Parent–Teacher Interactive Session 2026 Grade : V and VI

The Parent Teacher Meeting for the parents of students of Grades V and VI was held on 8 June 2026 at 8:15 a.m. in the LCS Summit Hall under the theme “Together Towards Every Child’s Success.” The meeting was conducted with the objective of strengthening the partnership between parents and the school in ensuring the holistic growth, academic progress and emotional wellbeing of every child.
The meeting was presided over by Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, School Manager, in the presence of Rev. Fr. Johnson L Sequeira, Principal, Ms. Anitha Thomas, Vice Principal and Ms. Suneetha K, Academic Coordinator. The programme commenced on a prayerful note with a melodious prayer song sung by the students under the guidance of our music teacher, Sir Roshan Corderio, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
The gathering was warmly welcomed by Ms. Lolita Mascarenhas, who greeted the dignitaries, parents, teaching staff and non-teaching staff to the first Parent Teacher Meeting of the academic year 2026 – 27 and highlighted the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers and beautifully remarked that “when parents and teachers work together, students reach greater heights.”
This was followed by the Presidential Address delivered by our School Manager, Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira. In his inspiring message, he emphasized that the school’s primary goal is the success and wellbeing of every child. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their continuous trust and support towards the institution and the students. Stressing on the importance of unity between parents and teachers, he stated that “one-sided understanding leads to misunderstanding,” and therefore encouraged everyone to work and walk together in the shared mission of nurturing children into confident and responsible individuals.
The programme then proceeded with the introduction of the teachers handling Grades V and VI. The teachers introduced themselves section-wise and briefly shared the subjects handled by them, helping parents become familiar with the teaching faculty.
An informative presentation on the academic and assessment framework was then presented by the Academic Coordinator, Ms. Suneetha K. She highlighted that a PTM is not merely a meeting but “a collaboration of hearts and minds working towards the holistic development of children.” The presentation focused on the scholastic and co-scholastic subjects, the three-language formula applicable for Class VI, vocational and skill-based curriculum under Kaushal Bodh, and the assessment pattern followed by the school.
The parents were also briefed about the focus areas for the academic year, which included building strong conceptual understanding, developing independent learning habits, improving analytical thinking, encouraging regular reading and revision, and maintaining discipline, punctuality, neatness, and positive behaviour among students. Information regarding communication platforms such as the school app and WhatsApp groups, along with support systems available through class and subject teachers, was also shared. Parents were requested to support their children by listening with empathy, communicating with respect and nurturing the unique potential of every child. The presentation concluded with the inspiring message: “Parents and teachers hold the brush; together we paint the masterpiece called a child’s future.”
Following the presentation, the floor was opened for parents to share their suggestions and queries. Parents actively interacted with the management and raised concerns regarding the number of PTMs conducted during the academic year, clarity on school jackets, support provided for Olympiad preparation, counselling services available for students, the positive and negative points system, technical issues related to the school app, canteen facilities, and the use of English translation during Kannada classes. The parents also appreciated the management for the new facilities and initiatives introduced in the school. All the queries raised by the parents were patiently and politely clarified by the Principal.
This was followed by the Principal’s Address delivered by Rev. Fr. Johnson L Sequeira, who warmly welcomed the newly admitted parents to the LCS family. In his address, he emphasized that every child is unique and special in their own way and that students are not separated or judged solely based on academic excellence but are appreciated and celebrated for their individuality and talents.
The Principal informed the parents that one-to-one interaction with teachers would commence from 22 June onwards to ensure better communication and support for every child. He also clarified that school jackets had been introduced to maintain uniformity among students. Regarding birthday celebrations, he informed parents that distribution of gifts in school would not be permitted in order to avoid discrimination among students. Instead, students would be encouraged to contribute towards the Birthday Fund as a meaningful gesture. He also introduced the newly adopted GK books by GREYCAPS aimed at improving students’ general awareness and knowledge.
