NCC Cadets’ participation in Exercise Sagar Kavach

The NCC cadets of Lourdes Central School, Bejai, participated in Exercise Sagar Kavach, a coastal security exercise conducted on 7 and 8 October 2026 along the Karnataka coast. The exercise witnessed the participation of various security agencies, including the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, CISF, and Karnataka State Police, with coordination involving naval and Coast Guard units from Karnataka, Kerala, and the Andaman region. The exercise aimed to strengthen coastal security preparedness by simulating scenarios involving the infiltration of unauthorised personnel and potential terrorist threats along the coastline. The participating teams were divided into Blue Force and Red Force to practise coordinated responses, interception, and counter-infiltration measures. A particularly significant milestone was that this was the first time Junior Division NCC cadets were given the opportunity to participate in this exercise, providing the cadets of Lourdes Central School with valuable exposure to real-world coastal security preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and national security operations.
