“Sport is not just about playing and winning. It is also about the teamwork and fun.
The Annual Sports day for Kindergarten was held with zeal and enthusiasm at the Lourdes Central School on 25th October 2025. The programme commenced with the entry of dignitaries followed by prayer song sung by the KG2 students.
The dignitaries for the Sports day were School Manager Rev. Fr. John Baptist Saldanha, Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson L. Sequeira, Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Roydon Misquith and Vice Principal Ma’am Anita Thomas.
Ma’am Linette Pereira, the co-ordinator of Kindergarten welcomed the gathering which was followed by flag bearing ceremony. The students Laukik, Jianna, Anam and Steven carried the house colour flags with Ma’am Malini.
Thereafter Principal Rev. Fr. Johnson L. Sequeira introduced the chief guest. The chief guest addressed both the children and their parents. He addressed the children as stars that shine in the sky. He encouraged them to always smile, help their friends, teachers and parents, use their imagination and seek encouragement to do good things in life.
The mass drill and the display was the highlight of the day. It was truly a feast to the eyes to watch the little ones performing with zeal and enthusiasm.
The president Rev. Fr. John Baptist Saldanha addressed the students and asked them to always have healthy food with healthy body. He was overwhelmed with their display performance and appreciated their efforts. He also addressed the parents and reminded them to take good care of their children, to speak kind and positive words, and to spend quality time with their little ones.
During the LCS sports week various sports activities were conducted for the students of Pre-KG, KG1, KG2. All the winners were felicitated by the dignitaries on the dais. Thereafter games were conducted for parents by Ma’am Joshna and Ma’am Kavya.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Ma’ am Lavita D’Souza. The children left the venue with happy hearts by receiving giveaways from Fr. Principal.
