Grade 9 Picnic to Vismaya Water Park, Kannur

The students of Class IX of Lourdes Central School, Bejai, embarked on an educational and recreational excursion to Vismaya Water Park, Kannur, on 25th September 2026. A total of 164 students accompanied by 10 staff members participated in the outing, which provided an excellent opportunity for recreation, social interaction and team bonding.
The group assembled at Mangaluru Central Railway Station at 5.45 a m and travelled to Kannur by the Vande Bharat Express. Upon arrival, they proceeded to the water park by bus. The students were observed to be enthusiastic and cheerful throughout the journey, eagerly anticipating the day’s activities.
After a warm welcome and breakfast at the venue, the students engaged in outdoor games and informal interactions while awaiting the opening of the park. Once inside, they enthusiastically explored the various dry rides, amusement attractions and water-based activities. The thrilling rides, wave pool, water slides and rain dance emerged as the highlights of the excursion, providing immense enjoyment and excitement.
Delicious sumptuous lunch and ice cream was served at the park, following which the students continued to participate in the recreational activities. Throughout the visit, the accompanying teachers ensured strict adherence to safety protocols and maintained regular attendance checks to account for every student.
The excursion offered much more than entertainment. It fostered camaraderie, cooperation and a spirit of togetherness among the students while allowing them to unwind from their academic routine. The students were reported to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and returned with cherished memories of a day filled with joy, adventure and meaningful interaction. Following a delightful evening tea at the picnic, everyone gathered in an orderly line to board the bus
The picnic concluded successfully with the group returning safely to Mangaluru by Parshuram express train at 9 pm. The excursion was widely appreciated by both students and staff and will undoubtedly remain a memorable highlight of the academic year.
