LCS Reading Mission 2021-22
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
The LCS Reading Mission 2021-22 took off on Saturday, 19 June, with a view of motivating the students to invest their time in effective reading. To envisage this mission with conviction the students pledged to make reading a habit and use the knowledge gained for the betterment of this country.
The students were encouraged to read books, newspapers and the like in various languages such as English, Hindi and Kannada. Students observed the reading day during the online class by learning from the teachers the right manner of holding a book, they also shared their opinions and views on the importance of reading books and the benefits of reading newspaper. The students were given an array of activities to indulge in during the reading Month, 19 June –19 July.
Month of Reading
Activities
KG- Class II- (Assisted Reading)
- Sit along with parents/guardians and read your favourite story book.
- Take help in joining words to form letters and pronounce words loudly and correctly.
- Take a picture of books you read in this month and WhatsApp to the group
Class III -V
- Read your favourite story books. Hold the story book, feel the story book, dive into the story and enjoy reading.
- You may also read a poem of your favourite poet and enjoy the poetry.
- Write an article on ‘Benefits of Reading’.
Class VI –VIII
- Discussion on favourite book, poet.
- Sharing stories in brief or reading the poem during online class
- *Students can write an article on the following topics-
- Reading in Digital Era
- Benefits of reading
- How to improve reading
- Better your reading habits
- E -reading
Class IX-XII
- Design a book mark with your favourite characters and quotes from their stories.
- Discussion on favourite book, poet.
- Sharing stories in brief or reading the poem during online class.
- Students can write an article on the following topics-
- Reading in Digital Era
- Benefits of reading
- How to improve reading
- Better your reading habits
- E-reading
As, has been the practice of every Lourdite to participate actively in all the projects, this LCS Reading Mission too will receive great response as always.
