Orientation Session on EVS for Teachers of Classes KG & 3–5

Topic: NEP Aligned with Innovative Teaching Methodology

An orientation session was organized for teachers of Kindergarten and Classes 3 to 5, focusing on the integration of the National Education Policy (NEP) with innovative teaching methodologies in Environmental Studies (EVS). The session was led by Mr. Jeevan Sai Prakash, Product Manager, and Mr. Manoj from Rachna Sagar Pvt. Ltd.

Key Highlights of the Session:

• The speakers emphasized that a child’s learning should stem from exploration, which helps them understand and meet the needs of society effectively.
• The session highlighted health and education as the two most essential pillars for a child’s holistic development.
• The need for the NEP was clearly outlined, stressing how it brings a shift from traditional rote methods to modern, conceptual learning approaches.
• Teachers were encouraged to view the new academic year as a fresh start, filled with new opportunities and positive energy. “A good beginning makes a big difference.”
• Participants were inspired to stay focused, optimistic, and dedicated, aiming to make this year a bright chapter in the lives of students.
• A strong message was conveyed that teachers should act as facilitators, helping children discover how to learn rather than simply what to learn.
• The importance of conceptual understanding as the foundation of effective modern education was discussed in detail.
• The salient features of the NEP were also covered, reinforcing the belief that:
  – Exposure leads to experience
  – Experience leads to learning

The session was followed by a presentation by Mr. Vasant Poojari and Mr. Preetham, who shared insights into the various NEP-aligned teaching resources developed by Ratna Sagar Publications. These resources are tailored to enhance experiential learning and classroom engagement.
