Parent-Teacher Interactive Session – Class VII

A Parent-Teacher Interactive Session was held for Class 7 parents and their wards on 10 February 2025 at LCS Roof Top Auditorium at 8:15a.m. bringing together the Principal, Rev Fr Johnson L. Sequeira, the Vice Principal, Mrs Belita Mascarenhas and the teachers of Class VII. The session aimed to strengthen the collaboration between teachers and parents to ensure the holistic development and academic success of the students.

The meeting began with a hymn, under the guidance of Mr Roshan Cordeiro, the Music Teacher followed by a warm welcome from Ms Rekha Naveen, the compere of the session.

The teachers of all subjects presented a PowerPoint on the Question Paper Pattern, followed by insightful examination tips and effective study strategies to help students perform well in the upcoming examinations. Parents were encouraged to create a conducive learning environment at home and support their children emotionally and academically.

Ms Gretta Menezes, the Exam Cell Coordinator shared an overview of the Examination schedule, promotion criteria, discipline related, issues and the corresponding disciplinary Actions for malpractice.

The forum was then opened for discussion.

In response, the Principal shared his plan to implement this from the next academic year.

The Principal, in his address appreciated the punctuality of the parents in attending the meeting and thanked them for all the support. He stated that the Preparatory Exams are conducted to reduce the burden on the Annual Exams. The students who have obtained the Principal’s signature on the Completion of Notes Page only will be permitted to answer the Preparatory Exams. He stressed on the importance of daily revision and urged the students to take responsibility for their own growth, both academically and in discipline. He stated that Education should go along with discipline. He advised that students in class 8 itself should adopt the mindset and standards of Class 10. He praised students

who study well, and assured them a 100% promotion. For low scorers and those unable to attend due to genuine reasons will have a re-exam, with a new set of question paper.

The Principal said that LCS has a tie up with Allen Institute, a renowned coaching Centre specialising in academics help students enhance their learning and perform better in exams.

Foundation course for Class 9 and 10 will be conducted thrice a week in Math and Science focusing on preparation for Olympiad Exams and other Competitive Exams. And if Class VIII is interested to be a part of it, the students should give the names to the class teacher by this Thursday. And if there is a sufficient number, it would be organised for Class VIII too.

Ms Rekha Naveen proposed the Vote of thanks and concluded the PTI Session at 9:10a.m. on a positive note, reaffirming the shared commitment of parents and teachers to the students’ academic and personal development.
