Lourdes Central School, Bejai, Mangaluru, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2026 in the LCS Conference Hall, expressing gratitude and appreciation for the dedicated service of teachers. The programme was hosted by the Student Council Members and graced by LCS Manager, Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Principal, Rev. Fr Johnson L Sequiera, Vice Principal Ms Anita Thomas, Academic Cordinators, Ms Deepa DSouza, Ms Suneetha K, Ms Shanthi Menezes and Ms Lynette Pereira, teaching and non teaching staff and students.
The programme commenced with a prayer and prayer song, followed by the dignitaries offering the floral tribute to the legendary teacher – Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. The Council Members then presented a meaningful enactment highlighting the significance of Teachers’ Day. A special birthday prayer and song for the birthday celebrants added grandeur to the celebration.
Rev. Fr Stany Pereira, Manager of the institution, addressed the gathering, highlighting the changing role of teachers in modern society and appreciating their selfless service. Principal Rev. Fr Johnson L Sequeira lauded the teachers and thanked the Student Council for organising an entertaining programme as a token of gratitude. A vibrant dance performance added colour to the occasion, while the prize distribution ceremony recognised teachers’ achievements in the games organised in connection with the occasion.
The programme concluded with a surprise mashup, making the celebration a memorable tribute to teachers and their valuable contribution to education and society. The event was beautifully compared by Adya Bhat, Royston Karkada, Vedang Rakesh and Sathvi Shetty.
