Republic Day 2026

Lourdes central school commemorated the 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026 with a celebration held in school grounds. The programme commenced at 8 a.m. with a grand entry of the school band, marching in perfect rhythm and leading the dignitaries – chief guest Mr. Nirmal Dsouza Senior Manager, Finance, MRPL Vice president, parish pastoral parishad, Bejai church, the m0anager Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Miss Avitha Pinto the secretary of the Bejai parish pastoral parishad, principal Rev Fr Johnson L Sequeira, vice principal Miss Anita Thomas, Rev Fr Arul and Rev Fr Roydon Misquith. The programme began with a prayer and prayer song led by students followed by a warm welcome address delivered by the class six students.
The students of class six sections C and D presented an impressive program showcasing the diversity of India, dressed in traditional attire representing various states, accompanied by captivating dances that highlighted the unique cultural heritage of each state. They also presented a thought provoking skit on fundamental rights, emphasizing the importance of being responsible students. The dignitaries paid floral tribute to the Father of the constitution, following which the chief guest highlighted the importance of upholding fundamental rights and equality, reminding students that these values are the cornerstone of a democratic nation. The school manager also shared his thoughts, inspiring the students. Subsequently achievers from classes eight, nine and eleven were presented with certificates during the program. The program continued with the students presenting melodious patriotic songs, filling the atmosphere with national pride. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by students of class six followed by the school anthem.
