Educational Trip To Pilikula Biological Park- Class 2

On January 8, 2026, Lourdes Central School organized an educational trip for the students of Class II to Pilikula Biological Park, Vamanjoor, with the objective of providing experiential learning and exposure to wildlife.
The students assembled in the corridor hall at 8:15 a.m., where a short prayer was led by Fr. Arul. After the prayer, the students were guided to organize themselves for departure. At 8:30 a.m., a total of 154 students boarded the buses, accompanied by four class teachers and supporting staff members — Ms. Asha Lobo, Ms. Triveni, Mr. Sudesh, and Ms. Flavy. The buses departed at 8:45 a.m., and the group reached the destination at 9:20 a.m.
Upon arrival, the students were made to be seated class-wise and served samosas and oranges. They also consumed the tiffin brought from home. At 10:00 a.m, the students entered the biological park and observed various species of animals, birds, and reptiles. The enclosures were clearly labelled with information regarding the animal’s habitat, diet, and lifespan, which enhanced the student’s understanding. The visit helped the students differentiate between herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores, and understand how animals adapt to their environment. It also emphasized the importance of wildlife conservation and protection of natural habitats.
At 12:00 noon, the students assembled in an open area where lollipops and chocolates were distributed. They spent time playing games and interacting with their peers. A short thanksgiving prayer was conducted before concluding the visit.
The return journey commenced at 12:45 p.m, and the students reached the school at 1:10 p.m. The students had their lunch in respective classrooms, followed by the distribution of Ideal ice-cream twisters which relished them. After the prayer, the students were dispersed at 2:10 p.m.
The educational trip was well-organized and successful, ensuring the safety, discipline, and enjoyment of all students while providing meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.
