The newly introduced YSM club (Young Students Movement) was open only for students of class VIII. There are 40 members in the club. The teacher incharge for the club is Ms Shamitha. The students were divided into 4 groups. The group members named their groups as Bondalica, Social rulers, The champs and Chicken Dinner. On 29th June 2019 the election for the committee members was held.
The following were elected with majority votes:
President: Samarth S Manipur (class VIII B), Vice President : Shloka Rai (class VIII A) Secretary: Christa Oliver (class VIII C), Yuvathare representative: Keith Pinto (class VIII B). The selection of the group leaders took place on the same day and the following were selected, Aathish Shetty (class VIII B), Suhan Shetty (class VIII B), Nishan Shetty (class VIII A) and Aaron Lobo (class VIII C).
The club had conducted following activities:
- Debate on the topic ‘Respect for women’.
- Discussion on the topic ‘Why we should separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste before disposal’. Video was shown about the importance of waste management.
- Discussion on the topic “What is responsibility?” and how we can as a student of class VIII be responsible towards our duties.
- Various fun games and activities were conducted.
- A talent show was conducted to bring out students’ hidden talent. All students performed extremely well.
- A General assembly had been conducted on the topic ‘water conservation’. Members of the club presented a skit and dance.
