Kindergarten and Primary Section Sports Day

The Sports Day began by invoking God’s blessings. The special highlight of the Sports Day was the colourful display of drills and Mass PT exercise from primary section. House system song was sung by the students of Opal house, Coral house, Jade house and Amber house. During the day various sports events like running race for class 3 to 5. Cap race and Hoolah Hoop games for KG 1 & 2 were conducted respectively. The students participated in them wholeheartedly.
The Chief Guest Mrs Sujatha C D’Souza, National Level Power Lifter accompanied by the President of today’s function Rev Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza, Manager, LCS and the Principal Rev Fr Robert D’Souza were escorted to the dais by the Convener of the Sports Day, Ms Thriveni.
Ms Anitha Pinto, Convener – Sports Day welcomed the gathering. The little Lourdites of KG1 and 2 cheered the gathering by tapping their feet to the rhythm of the song “Underneath the Mango tree” which portrayed their talents and showed their team spirit.
President Rev Fr Wilson Vitus D’Souza, Manager in his address said that sport is an essential part of the education, fostering the development of character, life skills, sportsmanship, and teamwork. It teaches us to know what it feels like to win and lose. It teaches us about life.
Winners of the various events were awarded with certificates and medals. The Chief Guest in her address said that she was happy and proud to witness the budding athletes in the campus. She congratulated each one of them. She also said that it was the duty of every school to promote children in the field of sports. As a sports person at the national level, she said that she felt very precious and proud of herself. She told that a runner must run with his dreams in his heart and not money in his pockets.
Rev Fr Robert D’Souza, Principal of LCS addressed the gathering in which he appreciated and congratulated the students for their amazing performance and thanked the members of the staff for training the students.
Ms Thriveni, Convener of the Sports Day proposed the vote of thanks by thanking each and every one for making the day a grand success. The spectacular Sports Day ended with a joyous note as each student had contributed their own share towards their own development, thus making this day an event to be remembered. The programme concluded by singing the National Anthem.
