Annual Day Celebration- VI TO XII
Lourdes Central School celebrated its Annual day with great excitement and liveliness on Friday, November 22nd 2024 on the school grounds with the theme, “LCS CRAFTING GLOBAL CITIZENS.”
The annual day highlighted the students relentless pursuit of growth and education ensuring them to remain adaptable in an ever-shifting world, nurturing them into global citizens who cherish diversity, inspire collaboration and lead with empathy and purpose.
The program commenced with a Prayer song by the School Choir followed by a graceful and captivating Welcome dance by the students of classes VI, VII, VIII, IX and X.
Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, the former Principal of Lourdes Central School, graced the occasion as the Chief guest. The function was presided over by Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, the Manager of Lourdes Central School.
Other esteemed dignitaries included Rev. Fr. Johnson Lawrence Sequeira, Principal Lourdes Central School, Vice Principals, Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas, Assistant Parish Priest Rev Fr Norman Mathias, Mr. Ashok Pinto Vice President, and Ms. Cynthia Pinto Secretary of the Bejai Pastoral Parishad, PTEC Vice President Mohammad Riyaz, Head Boy Adesh Rao and the Head Girl Diya Yashodar.
The Welcome speech was eloquently delivered by the Vice Principal, Ms Belita Mascarenhas.
The Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza was honoured by the dignitaries recognizing his invaluable contributions and dedicated service towards the school.
The Principal Rev Fr Johnson L Sequeira presented the School Annual Report 2024-25
The endowment awards were presented by the Chief Guest Rev Fr Robert Dsouza to the deserving recipients, recognizing their outstanding achievements and contributions.
Rev Fr Robert D’Souza former Principal of LCS in his message began by congratulating the Management, Principal, Staff and Students of Lourdes Central School for organising the Annual day function and providing students with value-based education. He also highlighted that LCS delivers quality education fostering integral development in students making it one of the best schools in the city. He emphasised our duty to give back to society and the nation. He also urged the students to respect our Alma Mater and keep the flag of LCS flying high.
Felicitation to the sports achievers was conducted by Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager of Lourdes Central School.
The presidential address was delivered by Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, the Manager of Lourdes Central School who appreciated the theme ’Crafting Global Citizens’. He highlighted that global citizens transcend geographic boundaries and political barriers, transforming society. He proudly stated that LCS is dedicated to nurturing such individuals.
The Vote of thanks was delivered by the Vice Principal, Ms. Anita Thomas.
CULTURAL CELEBRATION
The cultural extravaganza commenced with a vibrant array of programmes, all beautifully illustrating the theme
‘Lourdes Central School: Crafting Global Citizens’. Each performance showcased the students creativity and dedication in becoming well-rounded individuals ready to embrace and lead in our diverse world.
The celebration began on a musical note with ‘Rhythmic Euphony’ the school orchestra enchanting all with their wonderful music and creating a mesmerising atmosphere.
The students of Class VI presented a powerful dance drama titled ‘Defence: A Journey of Service and Sacrifice.’ Their performance vividly depicted the dedication and selflessness of the Alumni or legends of LCS who serve, the nation in the Ministry of Defence, Indian Armed Forces and Indian Navy and encouraged the future generation to do the same.
Class VII took everyone on an exhilarating time travel adventure with their performance of ‘Mission is Possible.’ Their captivating journey showcased the extraordinary possibilities when determination and teamwork come together.
Class VIII presented a captivating performance titled ‘Wonders of Wildlife’, encouraging everyone to take responsibility for saving Wildlife. Their portrayal offered a beautiful and immersive display of the wild, highlighting the importance of conservation of the environment and wildlife.
Class IX took the stage with a vibrant masterpiece, the theme ‘Exploring diversity inspiring Unity’, showcasing the colourful traditions and celebrations of various festivities. Their performance highlighted the rich diversity of cultures, creating a truly mesmerizing display.
Class X delivered a compelling dance drama inspired by the LCS school magazine, titled ‘The Timeless Journey.’ Their performance beautifully captured the essence of the LCS magazine, portraying stories and experiences that transcend time.
Classes XI and XII enthralled the audience with a performance titled ‘Euphonic Journey.’ Their presentation took everyone on a fashionable voyage, celebrating the beauty and power of fashion and entertainment.
The formal program was expertly hosted by Emily Gia Rodrigues, Tulsi Hariprasad and Skanda R Nambiar. The cultural events were beautifully compered by Aaradhya Hegde, Riddhanth Padival, Emily Gia Rodrigues, Leanne Rachel Gonsalves and K Aniruddh who ensured that the event flowed seamlessly and kept the audience engaged throughout.
It was an extraordinary and impressive show presented by the classes of VI to XII.
The programme enabled students to work as a team and co-operate us in one another.
