Blessing Ceremony of the New Block of Lourdes Central School

Those blessings are sweetest that are won with prayer and worn with thanks-  Thomas Goodwin

On the auspicious day of 22nd April 2022 the much awaited event took place as we the Lourdite family, the staff and the students gathered with great enthusiasm for solemn celebration on the school grounds for a short assembly followed by the blessing ceremony of the new block of Lourdes Central School.

The dignitaries Rev Dr John Baptist Saldanha, Manager of LCS, Rev Fr Robert

D Souza  Principal of LCS, Rev Fr Suraj Lobo assistant parish priest, Bejai parish, Ms Belita Mascarenhas Vice Principal, Mr Ashok Pinto the Vice President and Ms Preethi Gomes Secretary of Bejai parish Pastrol parishad, the Engineer Mr George, the building contractor, Mr Richard Rodrigues, work Supervisor Mr Richard D Souza were present on the occasion.

The ceremony began at 8:00 am by creating a spiritual ambience with intentions and prayers followed by key note address by the Vice Principal

Ms Belita Mascarenhas emphasized the purpose of the construction of the new block to meet the demands of the technology based education and the infrastructure which is quite challenging in the present scenario; it was possible because of timely planning and implementation by the management.

Fr Manager gave us insights about the abundant blessings that we have received in order to complete the construction, and also the hard work and service rendered by the management committee, the engineer, contractor and the supervisor.

He acknowledged the dedication and sincerity of our dearPrincipal Rev Fr Robert D Souza who has always co-ordinated well towards the smooth functioning of the school and has a great enthusiasm in making LCS reach greater heights. The Manager appreciated Vice Principal for her ideas and critical views at times that has helped in improving the quality of all the activities of our school.

After the formal address, the Manager offered special prayers for Lourdite community which created a divine atmosphere and then moved ahead towards the blessing of the new block and also the entire school building which gave us an assurance that the almighty will bless this temple of learning to fulfill the purpose of education. The school choir had been resplendent and refreshing throughout the ceremony which added the sweet fragrance to the celebration.

The programme ended with the proposing  the vote of thanks by Ms Dilla Colaco expressed her feelings of gratitude to the dignitaries and the entire Lourdite family as she emphasized on the collaboration and team spirit of all those who made it possible to make this event a great success.
