On 21st July 2020 the first Parent-Teacher online Interactive session was organized for class VIII at 6:pm. Ma’am Shamitha hosted the meeting for Batch 1.(8A and B).The session began by invoking God’s blessings through a video on prayer song. Ms Lavina Serrao welcomed the parents and read out a short report on how Lourdes Central School has resumed teaching and conducting activities like Vanamahotsava, competitions to bring out the creativity of the students through online classes even during the time of pandemic.

Later the Principal Rev.Fr Robert D’souza while addressing the parents said that the management, the staff, parents and the students are the pillars of the online classes. He also appreciated the parents for their support and added that they need to take care of discipline matters of their wards and maintain punctuality and dress up modestly. He also said that the staff is doing well in teaching but they are also learning the new technology and have accepted this challenge. He emphasized that the school will make good efforts if anything is missed out during zoom virtual classes when the regular classes begin. He advised the parents to remain strong , to move on amidst the pandemic situatation.

While the time was given for interaction Ms. Naisha Rizwan parent of Nida Rizwan appreciated Lourdes Central School for including drawing, music, and physical education along with the core subjects which is unique when compared to other schools.

Ms Queeny Lasrado expressed her positive views on hard work put in by all the teachers while conducting the online classes. Among the others, parent of Manvik Malli ,and Abhinav Kumar and also Rhianon (Ms Nishell Pais) all appreciated the efforts of the Principal and the staff.

On the other hand queries were raised about the III language Sanskrit classes by the parent of Ahmad Emaad and Parent of Abhinav Kumar added on the same issue Ms. Nishel also enquired about French. They expressed that online class should be conducted at least once in a week, for which the class teachers responded that they will discuss this matter and will intimate them later.

A motivational video was shown on a ‘Together we can change the world’ around 83 parents were present along with the subject teachers .The session ended at 6:40  with vote of thanks delivered by the host  Ms Shamitha Machado.

 Class VIII      Report of the Interactive Session 2020-21

The first PTA online meeting of the Lourdes central school for the academic year 2020 – 2021was held on 21st July 2020 at a 6.20pm for the students of class VIIIC and VIIID. The Principal Rev Fr Robert DSouza, The Vice Principal Ms BelitaMascarenhas and all the subject teachers concerned were present for the meeting.

 

Ms Padmashree hosted the meeting. The programme began with a prayer song (God will make a way) and thereafter Ms Vivita welcomed the gathering.

 

Ms Seema Madtha presented the overviews of online sessions, the systematic

functioning of classes through zoom app and Google classroom and test based on the portion covered. Besides importance is given to co – curricular activities to bring outthe hidden potentials of the students and same was exhibited by the students during thecelebration of Vanamahostava week( 6 th July – 11 th July) She called upon the parents to co-operate thus to make online teaching effective amidst pandemic.

 

Fr Principal gave a befitting message at this occasion; highlighting the epic beginning of this academic year through various technologies like watsapp, zoom app and google classroom. Fr Principal appreciated the parents for collaborating with the institute in this venture and being with the students. He insisted to move on amidst the pandemic. As students of class VIII they need discipline, responsibility and being the co parents we are ready to work for the betterment of students. He encouraged the parents to be positive and never to blame the present time rather to remain strong because this is good time and best is yet to come.

 

Principal gave small tips in the form of SMS to overcome this pandemic time.

S – stands for soap (to wash hands often)

M – stands for mask

S – stands for Social distancing.

 

Principal acknowledged the efforts of teachers switching over night from offline to online.

And working together to make teaching learning effective. He urged parents and students to remain safe and happy and also announced the best results of class X and XII for the year 2019 -2020.

 

A few parents gave a very good feedback for virtual classes as well as about the

participation of staff in all the academic as well as co-curricular activities.

 

Few suggestions:

  1. Decrease screen time
  2. Possible way to switch on to Google meet instead of zoom app to avoid non- lourdite

entry to the class.

  1. There can be only two sessions in the morning, then the host continued the meeting with a motivational video and the meeting ended with a note of appreciation to one and all.
