Dental Health Education 2022

“Better Teeth, Better Health – Your Smile Begins Here”

Lourdes Central School Kindergarten Section organized a dental awareness programme on 5th of November at 9:45 am. in the school auditorium under Dr Charishma and Dr Anupama.

The programme began invoking God’s blessings followed by welcome address by Principal Rev Fr Robert D’Souza.  Fr Principal spoke that Kindergarten children are always happy because they have their happy teachers with them who are always smiling and making the day of the child a happy day. He also told the doctors to feel free and enjoy the session with the little ones.  Ma’am Lydia D’Souza the Kindergarten co-ordinator and all the Kindergarten staff were present during the programme.

Dr Pallavi began the session asking the children about their well-being. Dr Divya explained to the students who a pediatric dentist is? And how important it is to take care of our baby teeth too.Methods of brushing teeth was explained to the children through pictures and videos. A small play was enacted by the doctors which the children enjoyed. The play encouraged the children to eat healthy food like vegetables, fruits, fish etc.

The doctors guided the teachers regarding the injury to the tooth during the school time. The teachers were instructed how to take care when a child has a broken tooth or injury to the jaw when the child plays in the school.Children were also called to the tables of the doctor to practice their brushing skill. Children participated enthusiastically by answering all the questions asked.

The programme was compared by Ma’am Reshma and gratitude expressed by Ma’am Lavita. A small booklet on “Taking care of your child’s teeth” was distributed to all the children of the Kindergarten section by the doctors.
