‘The Best Way to Find Yourself Is To Lose Yourself in The Service Of Others’ –Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi Jayanthi the Birth Anniversary of, the father of Our Nation was celebrated on 2nd October2022-23. The Principal Rev Fr Robert Dsouza and the Vice Principal Ms Anitha Thomas graced the programme with their presence. The programme began with a prayer song. Sancia Pinto of class X welcomed the gathering.
To inculcate the feeling of integrity and brotherhood – all faith prayers – ‘ Sarva Dharma Prathana’ was organised. The Lourdites read a verse each from the Bhagwad Geeta, Quran, Guru Granth Sahib and Bible. They also gave the interpretation.
The Significance of the day was read by Shahan Lobo who enlightened the audience with the life story of Mahatma Gandhiji, his simple living and high thinking. To express the patriotism in their own little ways the Lourdites presented a patriotic song that instilled patriotism in us.
Remembering yet another great leader Lal Bhadhur Shastri the second Prime minister of India, Deep Mascarenhas of class X appraised the audience on his contribution to the nation.
The Principal in his presidential address upheld the values of Gandhiji- simple in living, high thinker, confident, truthful, committed for task and dedicated in his work. He asked to love and respect the farmers and soldiers who contribute towards the nation, he invited the students to know more about Mahatma Gandhi and imbibe his teachings in their life.
Ania Mascarenhas of class VII proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Pranavi Shetty of Class X and concluded with the National Anthem.
