Motivational Talk -Class 8

Believe you can and you’re halfway thereTheodore Roosevelt

Motivation is the reason for people’s actions, desires, and needs. Motivation is also one’s direction to behaviour, or what causes a person to repeat a behavior. A motive is what prompts the person to act in a certain way, or at least develop an inclination for specific behaviour. To enhance motivation and discipline among the students, Lourdes Central School organized a Motivational Talk on 24th February for the students of class 8.

The session began with a prayer and The Resource experts ,Ms Ananya Singh and Ms. Anjana Jose MSc in counselling presented Motivational Talk . Ananya Singh took over and began by sharing a few of her childhood issues which made it possible for many students to relate to her. She asked students to share incidents where they messed up. She told the students about how they could own up to and accept their mistakes and explained that it was important to communicate with their parents and teachers so that they can take their feedback and rectify their mistakes. The PPT captivated the students as it had Avengers – characters that they were familiar with. She instructed students to guess the character and write down a few of their qualities. She highlighted how they could take inspiration from them and inculcate some of their values. She also made the students do a SWOT Analysis in which the students noted down their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats which helped them realize the qualities they already possessed and the ones they needed to develop.

The session was very beneficial for students and they decided to never give up and would always work hard to achieve their goals. The speaker ended with more Motivational examples and answered student’s queries also.

Ms Samaira of class 8 A initiated the programme following which Ms Dhanya of class 8B welcomed the gathering and introduced resource experts. Ashel of class 8 C delivered the vote of thanks.
