OLD SHOES COLLECTION PROGRAMME as a part of CRUSADERS FOR A GREENER ENVIRONMENT
OLD SHOES COLLECTION PROGRAMME as a part of CRUSADERS FOR A GREENER ENVIRONMENT
The Cabinet Ministers undertook this programme in association with School Health Annual Report Programme (SHARP).
Presently, this programme is focusing on “NO CHILD SHOULD GO BAREFOOT” and thus has collaborated with BATA. For every old pair of shoe which we donate, BATA will exchange it with a new pair and provide it to the needy children. For this cause, even Lourdes Central School is joining hands to help the underprivileged children of our society.
The campaign started with the briefing session for the students of classes IV-XII by Nilisha D’sa and Akhila G of Class XII. The students were truly motivated by the cause, and pitched in their help.
By the end of this campaign, nearly 130 pairs of shoes were collected. This shows the generosity and sensitivity of the Lourdites. The students who donated the shoes were given a thank you badge and a pair of socks.
The programme was organized by Mr Henry Mascarenhas and Ms Anita Thomas.
