Presidential Elections in India – Quiz Competition
A Quiz Competition was conducted for the Secondary and Senior Secondary students of Lourdes Central School on 15 July 2022 at 11.00a.m. in the A V Room to give them an awareness on Voters Education and Electoral Participation with regard to the Presidential Elections of India. The programme began with a prayer and welcome address by Andrea of class XII. She welcomed Rev. Fr Robert Dsouza, the Principal, Mrs Anitha Thomas, the Vice Principal, the teachers, participants and audience. The Quiz Master Ms Gowri Ravi briefed about the rules for the quiz. The teams were divided into four groups that are Opal, Coral, Jade and Amber. Each team had three participants. The quiz had two rounds: The first round had questions on Presidential Election and the second round had questions on Vice Presidential Election of India. In case questions were unanswered by participants, the audience got a chance to answer. Amber House was declared the winner of the Quiz Competition with a total of 95 points, followed by Jade House with 85 points, Coral House with 75 points and Opal House with 60 points. The programme ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Vernon of class XI. Through this Quiz Competition, the students gained knowledge about Presidential and Vice-Presidential Elections in India. Over-all, this inter-house Quiz Competition was a huge triumph.
