Report on AICS Annual Conference 2023
The annual conference AICS 2023 (Association of ICSE &CBSE schools of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district) was hosted by Sri Siddhivinayaka Residential School, Hattiyangadi, Kundapuron 3rd November 2023.
Principals and teachers from different progressive schools across the twin districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada attended this educational conference. Ms Gretta Menezes and Ms Sowmya K, teachers of Lourdes Central School had the privilege to accompany LCS Principal Rev Fr Robert DSouza to the conference and share our perspective. This conference revolved around the theme “Haridwarna”- greening the hearts and minds of educators to foster a sense of responsibility for the environment within the education sector.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Mathew Ninan the founder President of AICS and the Principal of Little Rock English Medium School, Brahmavar.
Mr Sundeep Vullikanti, a senior Counsellor at the Indian Green Building Counsil took over the first session on sustainability of green environment and green school for every child.
The second session on sustainable school was presented by Mr Shreyas Sajeevan, Project officer, YRE, LLC, Ahemadabad.
The third session resumed in the afternoon was all about Green school for every child and was carried over by Mr Veerendra Rawat, Founder, Green Mentor, Ahmedabad.
The delegates availed the opportunity of listening to the eminent speakers who shared their knowledge on this huge platform.
The gathering of educators and cultural events were welcomed with cultural events which were amazing and mesmerizing.
The cuisine served was rich and moulded through a delectable blend of coastal flavours.
During the conference speakers and educators interacted with each other and exchanged innovational ideas adding to the enrichment of the conference.
Ms Kavitha Mishra, progressive farmer, Raichur Presided over the valedictory function and inspired the audience with her real life experience of struggle to emerge as a successful entrepreneur.
