Republic Day Celebration 2023
The 74th Republic Day was celebrated on Thursday, 26th January2023 at 8:00a.m in the LCS Grounds with the spirit of Patriotism.The anchors of the event were Ira Rao and Avinash of Class VI. The Chief Guest Major Lohith Suvarna, Principal Rev.Fr Robert Dsouza, Vice Principals Ms Belita Mascarenhas and Ms Anitha Thomas, Rev. Fr Suraj Lobo Assistant Parish Priest ,Bejai Church, the Sports Ministers Shamith R Kumar and Diya N Yashodar along with the Scouts and Guides escorted the dignitaries to the dais with the rhythm of the school band.
The programme began with a prayer song in Hindi invoking God’s blessings followed by the Intentions, to bring peace and justice around the world. Sharvi Shetty of Class VIII welcomed the gathering with a smile. Ms Apoline Lobo introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. The Principal Rev.Fr Robert Dsouza along with the other dignitaries felicitated the Chief Guest with a shawl, garland and memento.
The Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag along with the dignitaries and the National Anthem was sung. The school band performed melodiously which was indeed a celebration for the day. Aarav Agarwal of Class IX and Ethal Vivin of Class VII delivered the Significance of the day in Hindi and English respectively. The school choir rendered a Patriotic song in Hindi.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and inspired our young Lourdites to join the Army by showing a positive attitude. He encouraged the students to be mentally and physically strong and highlighted on how our Indian soldiers defend our border to keep the country safe.
The Principal Rev Fr. Robert Dsouza, in his address thanked the Chief Guest for his relentless service towards the Nation. He also inspired the students to respect our soldiers and pray for them for their hard work who spent their precious time in protecting and safeguarding our country.
A Patriotic dance was performed by our little Lourdites which was indeed a great treat for our eyes.The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ayesha Ahmed of Class VIII.
