Career Guidance by alumni Vilas

On 15th June 2022 an interactive session was conducted between an alumni Mr Vilas M Bhat (2015 Batch) and the students of classes 11 and 12 (Science stream) of Lourdes Central School.

Mr Vilas briefed the students about his journey from High School to landing his job at Twitter, San Francisco. Prior to that he had worked at Google. Every minute of the talk was inspirational and the session proved to be extremely helpful and motivating.

He shared his experiences at NITK, how he managed his time schedule and the inspiration and opinions he got from his seniors and teachers. He stressed on the importance of a good friends circle and good contacts in one’s chosen career.

He encouraged students to rely more on books and teachers for gaining knowledge rather than the Internet. He also suggested that we build good habits that we can carry forward for the rest of our lives. He answered a lot of questions regarding his experience and career. It was an enlightening session and all the students were very thankful for this opportunity.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Aaryan Srivastav of class 12 which marked the end of the session.
