Career Guidance- Class 10

The career guidance program was organised in Lourdes Central School by Lions Club, Bejai branch for the students of class 10 on 11th August 2023.  The Resource Person was prof.  Ronald Pinto, the director of Institute for Individual Development. The dignitaries to grace the occasion were, the Principal Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza, the President of Lions Club – Mr. Jason Dsouza, the Ex President – Mr. Richard Dsouza, Shanthi Dsouza – a member, the Vice Principals Ms. Belita Mascarenhas.

The program commenced at 8:20am by invoking the blessings of God.

 In his introductory address, the Principal Rev. Fr. Robert Dsouza spoke about the importance of class 10 and the necessity of having a session on career guidance.

The President of Lions Club, Mr. Jason Dsouza then addressed the students and spoke about the motto of Lions Club, that is, ‘being kind with a smile.’

The stage was then taken over by the Resource Person Prof. Ronald Pinto. In an hour’s time, he highlighted the 5 stages of studying, that is- listening, reading, writing, analysing and applying. He also helped the students to differentiate between a career and a job. He not only broadened the student’s thinking horizon about the career opportunities but also about the best institutions to pursue their dreams. He stressed on the recent popular job opportunities both in India and abroad.

He gave a detailed list of Engineering, Medical, Art and Commerce streams which students can pursue after the P U Education.  The resource person with his vast knowledge kept the students engrossed in the session.  It was truly beneficial to the students.

The session concluded with the number of questions from the students.

The program was anchored by Manavi Kokhani and Charvi Bhargava proposed the vote of thanks.
