Constitution day 2023

“Democracy and education are the pillars upon which a nation’s destiny is crafted.”

Constitution day or Samvidhan Devas also known as national Law Day is celebrated in India on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. In this regard the occasion was celebrated in the premises of Lourdes Central School in all its solemnity and it was marked by the conduct of a special assembly by the students of the school under the guidance ofFr.Arul Joseph and B.ed interns .The program culminated with the sense of patriotism and an awareness to abide by the Constitution of our nation and a a profound understanding of democracy’s core principles within the vibrant halls of Lourdes Central School.

The program commenced with an air of solemnity, as the MC led the audience in a contemplative mood by reciting the universal prayer followed by Prayer Song and intentions.

Thought for the day provided a reflective interlude, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless wisdom on “change”encouraging each participant to be the change they wish to see in the world.This powerful message served as a call to action for each individual to actively contribute to the betterment of society, aligning seamlessly with the spirit of Constitutional Day.

A significant segment of the celebration unfolded as the significance of the day was expounded upon, shedding light on the main objective of commemorating the Constitution.Echoed with recognition and dedication that uphold the democratic spirit of the nation.

The event culminated with an address by Principal Rev. Fr. Robert D’Souza, who commenced his speech with a quote from B.R. Ambedkar on democracy: “Democracy is not merely a form of government. It is primarily a mode of associated, level of conjoined, communicated experience. It is an essential attitude of respect and reverence towards fellowmen.” The principal, a beacon of wisdom, emphasized the paramount significance of values and rights, characterizing them as two facets of a singular coin. He ardently advocated for a nuanced understanding of constitutional principles, urging students to delve deeper into literature elucidating both rights and duties.

The focal point of the event was the recitation of the Preamble, a collective reaffirmation of the foundational principles that bind us as a nation.This was complemented by the constitutional song lead by the school choir, the echoes of which reverberated across the school grounds, symbolizing the unity and diversity that defines our great nation.
