Parent–Teacher Interactive session 2023- Class 6

The first Parent Teacher Interactive Session for class VI was held on 7th June 2023 in the AV room from 9:30am to 10.30am. The session commenced with a prayer song by the students of the choir group. Ms Noeleen Pais welcomed the gathering and the dignataries – Rev. Fr Robert DSouza, the Principal, Ms Belita Mascarenchas and Ms Anita Thomas, the Vice Principals. The subject teachers introduced themselves. Ms Gretta Menezes, the Exam coordinator informed the parents about the assessment structure. She stressed on competency based learning and assessment. Ms Anitha Thomas briefed the school rules and focused on punctuality, tidy turn out, attendance for the examination.

The session was then open for queries and suggestions. The following are the queries by the parents and the reply by the Principal:

  • Whether the uniform must be stitched with the tailor suggested by the cloth merchant?

The material was to be bought from the shops suggested by the school and the tailor could be of the parent’s choice.

  • Whether coloured dress could be worn and sweets could be distributed on birthdays?

Class VI onwards uniform to be worn and no sweets to be distributed

  • When can the parents meet the teachers?

The parent to communicate through the school diary and to avoid meeting teachers on Fridays as there will be staff meetings.

  • What are the options for third language?

English and Hindi are compulsory. Sanskrit and French are available on extra payment after class on the responsibility of the parents.

A parent appreciated the systematic diary rules and regulations for which Fr Principal thanked the parent and said that an Institutional plan book was also given to the staff with all the yearly duties.

Election for the Parent Representative was conducted and following are the names of parents volunteered for the same.

Fr Principal addressed the session by appreciating the presence of the parents. He asked the parents not to discuss anything on whatsapp groups, he urged them not to react rather respond and improve the relationship. He further added that the parent fraternity is the main source that contributes to the growth of academic performance. He asked the parents to give healthy tiffin and sufficient water to their wards. The session concluded at 10.30am with a note of gratitude by Ms Reshma.The interactive session was compered by Ms Preethi.
