Parent-Teacher Interactive Session 2023 -Class 9

Parents and teachers are partners in education and by working together, both can ensure that all students succeed!

Parent-Teacher Interactive Session for Class IX was held on 6 June 2023 in the School A V Room. The programme began with a prayer song led by Mr Ivan Mascarehnas and sung by the students of class IX. Ms Harshitha Shetty welcomed the gathering. All Subject Teachers introduced themselves. Ms Gretta Menezes, the Exam Cell Coordinator presented a PPT on the New Education Policy and the Pattern of Assessment. She stated that there is a transition from Rote Learning to Competency Based Learning adapting 21st Century Skills.  Ms Anita Thomas, the Vice Principal briefed about the rules and regulations of the school, and highlighted on the importance of discipline in a student’s life. The Session was kept open for feedback, queries and suggestions from parents. The Principal answered the queries of parents, clarified their doubts and said that their suggestions would be considered. Ms Belita Mascarenhas, the Vice Principal spoke on the Academic Support Classes and expressed that this year being the Jubilee Year, LCS wants to be on Excellence.

The following PTEC representatives were elected:

Class IXB – Mrs SumaPavithra, parent of LipthaKechappanda

Class IXC – Mrs ZeenaMenezes, parent of SimonaMenezes

Class IXD – Mrs VasundaraRai, parent of SaanviRai

The Principal Rev. Fr Robert D’Souza addressed the gathering and stated the following points:

1.Thanked the parents for the support they extended the previous year and for the high performance of the students.

2. To spreadpositivity and be like a sunflower.

3. To make LCS a temple of learning.

4. To give quality education.

5. To read well, study well, play well, eat well and sleep well.

6. To bring two tiffins – One for the first break preferably fruits and another for the second break – Home cooked food.

7. To bring transparent water bottles.

The Principal announced the 100% result of class X and class XII, and owed it to the cooperation of parents, teachers and students. He wished the parents all the best and said that LCS is always with the parents, and stressed on working together for the betterment of their ward.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms Shamitha Machado. Ms Shaila Pereira compered the programme.
