Post Card Campaign – Say No To Tobacco

As a part of students formation, on 19th June 2023, the department of public health dentistry from A.J institute of dental sciences in collaboration with the district tobacco control cell, Indian dental association and department of school education of Dakshina Kannada district had organised a ‘post card campaign’ for the students of Lourdes Central School in the school campus.

Doctors from A. J institute addressed the students about the ill effects of using tobacco. The doctors interacted with the students and explained the harmfulness of various types of chemicals present in tobacco. Children were asked to be cautious about the different agents and sources that target the school going students and manipulate their minds. Students were made aware of all the dangers, diseases and the consequences of consumption of tobacco and how they have to take care of their health and well-being.

Each student was given a blank postcard to express their thoughts in the form of slogans, quotes and pictures.

It was an enriching programme. It helped the students to get a good knowledge about the adverse effects of consuming substances that are dangerous to physical and mental health.
